The Overgrown Garden
My garden is becoming dangerous! Please, I need experienced gardeners to come investigate why my plants are attacking people and nip this in the bud… I’m not as spry as I used to be and I can’t handle this on my own. I’ve got cookies and milk waiting for any willing to help! Oma Grendel
Recap
A group of Gardeners answers Oma Grendel’s call to help with a serious gardening issue! Some are more wary of Fey shenanigans than others as she offers cookies while they settle in to learn about the issues. Chandra points out more complicated political power plays might be in motion, but whatever the reason, something is seriously wrong with the Garden as it’s been more …chaotic and unsafe than usual for passersby.
Throughout their journey: Pippin reaches an incredible level of zen with the Garden, Chandra navigates Fey interactions with poise and intellect, Vesper keeps the party in motion, Nuith engages in cautious Sylvan rhyme and song and adopts the Way of the Goose, and Erik has an existential bacon crisis that ultimately helps purge the Garden. A mischievous faerie with a classic Giant Goose hiding a Golden Egg prank nearly downs the party. They survive, however, and in the end discover the Rot further into the woods, which infects both Vesper and Chandra. Not able to be taunted into the reach of its twisted vines by the Foul Pumpkin sitting on its throne of thorns, the party turns it to ice and smashes it to bits, returning the Garden to its previous level of neutral chaos.
Though she seems away from home by the time they return, Oma Grendel leaves behind some gardening tools to aid the party in their future Gardening quests.
