Chaotic Fate Tables
Memoria has a funny way of treating visitors. When entering Memoria, players can choose whether to roll on the Chaotic Fate table (1d100) and receive a boon or a bane of varying intensity.
Regular Visitor Table
If you are dropping in for a quest, you are considered a regular visitor!
If your character invests more than 30 consecutive days in Memoria, they can develop immunity to negative boons on this table. You can become a Heroic Resident by investing in a stronghold somewhere in the universe.
Roll | Effect | Description |
---|---|---|
1-10 | Bad Memory | You are haunted by a particularly terrible memory. You receive a -1 penalty to your next saving throw. |
11-20 | Good Memory | You are reminded of a particularly excellent memory. You receive a +1 bonus to your next saving throw. |
21-30 | Aura of Clumsiness | The gravity is different here and you struggle getting used to it. You receive a -2 to your next Dexterity check. |
31-40 | Aura of Agility | The gravity feels much lighter here. You receive a +2 to your next Dexterity check. |
41-50 | Sluggish Reaction | An overbearing aura slows you down, imposing a -2 penalty to your next attack roll. |
51-60 | Swift Reaction | You are tuned with the natural energies, allowing you to make an additional attack as part of your next Attack action. |
61-70 | Burdensome Fate | You feel the weight of destiny as if it were physical. Your movement speed is reduced by 10 feet until your next long rest. |
71-80 | Empowering Fate | Destiny empowers you. Your movement speed is increased by 10 feet for the next 24 hours. |
81-90 | Vulnerable Mind | You feel especially fragile in the swirling chaotic energy. The next successful attack against you will deal additional psychic damage equal to 1d6 plus half your character level, and this damage ignores all resistances. |
91-100 | Godlike Power | You are able to tap into the chaotic energies here to fuel your prowess in combat. Your next successful attack counts as a critical hit. |
Heroic Resident Table
After investing in a stronghold while also committing heroic deeds (DM discretion), you are not only immune to Memoria’s negative effects on entry, but the universe begins to recognize you as a minor deity and grants you appropriate powers when you re-enter its space to continue doing such deeds. However, these blessings are dependent on your behavior during your time spent in Memoria and can be revoked by its higher powers at any time if they deem you to no longer qualify as a Heroic Resident.
When rolling on this table, the following effects are available to you regardless of your character class. If you roll an effect for a feature you already have, you can accept the result or immediately choose to roll again. The effects are only granted when you first enter a quest and expire once you have returned to Luck.
