- Roleplay & Creative Solutions: Encouraged and rewarded in different ways! (I love handing out bonuses and advantages.)
- Tactics and Strategy: It’s not always possible to predict which conversations to have before a critical moment. OOC tactics and strategy conversations are typically welcome as long as it makes sense your characters would have had the chance to discuss the situation or naturally have a more inherent understanding than the players. (If you can retcon the discussion IC, please do!)
Action Economy
- Potions:
- Action: @ Self = Max Health, @ Ally = Roll
- Bonus Action: @ Self = Roll
- Skill Checks: You can request one free skill-check per round (approval pending how involved it is).
General Combat & Variant Rules
- Mounts and Other Companions: Share your initiative.
- Shared Initiative: Allies sharing initiative can optionally coordinate their moves simultaneously.
- Flanking: +2 to Attack (Up to 2 sizes larger)
- Non-Lethal Damage: It is assumed you deal lethal damage unless stated otherwise and it must be stated before discovering whether you killed the opponent. All damage dealt by a method you are proficient in can be dealt non-lethally as your character is skilled enough to control output and there are limited mechanics for simply knocking out an enemy.
- Healing Surge: Allowed as a bonus action. Be prepared for enemies to have more access to healing options as well.
- Short Long Rests: If you complete at least one hour of a Long Rest but do not get to complete it, you may take the benefits of a Short Rest instead.
“What if I want to try…?”
- Magic Leniency: Want to bend the rules of magic? Memoria is a chaotic universe full of power surges. You may be able to do so situationally at DM discretion and a bit of luck… but be prepared for unexpected outcomes.
- Help Action: DM discretion, you will need to explain in what way you are helping and, for skill checks, why your character is qualified to do so.
- Skill Checks: If I ask for a skill check and you have a reason to roll using something else due to your character’s strengths, feel free to give me a good argument for it!
Reward Distribution
- Quest Rewards: Sometimes your rewards are included in the loot you found along the way. While you of course can only keep up to the allowable amount per server rules, you aren’t always guaranteed to get paid out by a patron at the end!
